OlioCru:

is an excellent example of how it is possible to combine high-quality production with a sustainable approach oriented towards economic circularity. Founded on the shores of Alto Garda, OlioCru stands out for the production of extra virgin olive oil of the highest quality, obtained from olives grown organically and with traditional processing methods.

We are located in the upper Garda, where the landscape is painted by the characteristic green of the olive trees, distributed in the typical terraces that surround the northernmost part of the lake. Our farm extends between Riva del Garda and Arco (TN), the last bastion of the olive tree to the North, between the 45th and 46th parallel.

In this last Mediterranean corner, the soil and climate characteristics have intertwined with history, giving life to a type of agriculture of which we have the first evidence as early as the 2nd-3rd century AD.

What is the circular economy?

The circular economy is an economic model that aims to minimize the waste of resources and maximize the reuse, recycling and recovery of materials within the economic system. Unlike the traditional linear model (take, make, use, throw away), where resources are used and then disposed of as waste, the circular economy is based on the principles of reduction, reuse, recycling and rethinking of products and processes.

In the circular economy, products and materials are designed to be durable, repairable and easily recyclable. When a product has reached the end of its useful life, instead of being disposed of as waste, it is collected, dismantled and the materials that compose it are reused to create new products or reintegrated into the production cycle.

This approach aims to minimize the extraction of natural resources, energy consumption and waste emission, while promoting the conservation of existing resources and the creation of a more sustainable and resilient economy. Furthermore, the circular economy fosters innovation and the creation of new economic opportunities, such as new markets for recycling and remanufacturing of materials and products.

How does OlioCru manage the circular economy?

One of the distinctive aspects of OlioCru is its commitment to the circular economy. This is manifested through various practices:

  1. Sustainable Production Cycle: OlioCru adopts sustainable agricultural practices that minimize environmental impact and promote soil health and biodiversity. Using techniques such as biodynamic cultivation and composting, the company creates a production cycle that favors the regeneration of the surrounding environment.

  2. Recycling of Production Waste: During the oil production process, OlioCru tries to minimize waste and maximize every resource. Processing waste, such as pomace (the solid residue of olives), is reused for purposes such as composting or the production of natural cosmetics, ensuring that nothing is wasted.

  3. Promoting Circularity in the Local Economy: OlioCru actively collaborates with other local businesses and stakeholders to promote the adoption of circular economy practices throughout the community. This may include initiatives such as resource sharing, developing local supply chains and raising awareness of the benefits of economic circularity.

Through these and other practices, OlioCru demonstrates that it is possible to achieve commercial success while maintaining a small environmental footprint and contributing to the well-being of the local community. Their experience offers an inspiring model for other companies looking to adopt a more sustainable approach to production and consumption.

Among the most modern and technological oil mills in Europe

Alongside the production of our Extra Virgin Olive Oil, we offer a series of tertiary services to agricultural producers who do not have the facilities and tools necessary to produce their own olive oil.

The new OlioCRU mill at Domus Olivae is among the most modern and technological in Europe, able to guarantee a process that preserves the product by safeguarding its organoleptic characteristics, aroma and taste.

Our specific mill services are: milling, chemical analysis of the oil, filtration, bottling, packaging and labelling. We take care of businesses of all sizes, from small farmers to more structured agricultural companies. What we care about is following the producer in all his needs, accompanying him in the processing of his olives from the moment they arrive at the mill to when his oil is bottled. We guarantee the use of his drupes throughout the entire process, which the producer himself will be able to verify visually, observing the fascinating process of metamorphosis that transforms the olive from a fruit to precious liquid gold.
